Hello again, it’s Greg!

Well, it’s another spectacular day!  I stopped here because I saw this sign and the sign is telling me what? It’s telling me how far it is to all of these different areas that I’m trying to get to. When I saw the sign I started thinking, “I wonder how many people, either aren’t paying attention to the road signs that are out there or don’t have any idea as to how far they have to go, because they’re not really sure where they’re going.

That’s kind of crazy isn’t it?

If you know where you’re going, and you know where you’re at, then you know how far you have to go to get to where you want to go, right?

The one thing I want to encourage you to do is to take some time, sit down, and find out where you’re at. Find out what you want to be doing. Find out where you want to be going.  Find out what that dream, that goal, that big ambition you have is. What is your meaning for life? What is your purpose and start going after it.

Start putting in the miles to get from here, to there. From where you are now to where you want to go. OK?

It just takes a little bit of time. Start developing your life-plan, it’s important. And you know what? The signs are out there that are going to direct you to where you want to go and I’m here to help you in any way that I can.

Life is an adventure and I love it! I’m glad you’re coming with me! We’ll see you soon.

Ponder this: Is there a time in your life, when you knew exactly where you were and where you wanted to go? What did that look like? Did you have a clearly defined objective? What would happen to your life today, if you slowed down and took the time to develop a specific road map to help you create the life you dream of?

On September 27, 2014 you will have that opportunity! I will be leading a day long workshop in the beautiful resort area of Dana Point, California:

HEALTHY and HAPPY: Living The Great Adventure.

Stay tuned for more information. Mark the date on your calendar! See you soon.

Keep on learning, keep on growing and keep on leading. Life is a daring adventure, let’s begin living it!

Why Reflection Time is Vital Time!

“I went into the woods because I wanted to live deliberately….I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life…to put to rout all that was not life…and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.”                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        -Henry David Thoreau

Entire script:

Hi everyone! This is Greg, coming to you with the, Message From the Road. I thought I would give you a few minutes to enjoy this beautiful area and it’s silence. It’s truly a magical place to visit.

The question I’d like to ask you is, “Are you taking time out of your day? Are you taking time out of your life to find the silence? Are you taking the time to sit and reflect on what’s going on in your life right now?

We are living in self inflicted times of busyness and we need to take the time to reflect and to think about where we are going, where we’ve been, what our reason for being here is. What is our purpose in life?

I get so inspired when I get out in nature like this.

This has been an intentional trip that I planned after a busy week of working. I wanted to  drive down Pacific Coast Highway and stop off here in the Big Sur area. Let’s just stop and listen for a minute, what do you hear?

Now isn’t that (silence) spectacular? Imagine being able to just go out and enjoy Mother Nature, and to enjoy all of God’s blessings that He’s given us. We have that opportunity, we just need to take the time and plan it.

We have this daily life that we get to live, and we should start planning into our day, into our week or into our year different times when we need to take a break and seek that classroom of silence as Matthew Kelly likes to call it, and find the inner you, your inner peace.

Spend some time with just you, thinking, reflecting and trying to determine where you’re going with the rest of your life.

So make today a masterpiece, enjoy nature, intentionally find times in your day and in your life when you’re going to shut down.

Keep on growing, keep on learning and keep on leading. So until next time this is Greg Drolet.

Ponder this Question: When are you going to intentionally take the time to sit quietly and listen to the messages that are knocking at the door of your mind?

Becoming a Beacon of Light

Everyone lights up a room, some when they enter, some when they leave! Be that beacon of light that this world so desperately needs.

Today’s Message From the Road is coming to you from Central California in the Big Sur area. It is one of my favorite places in the entire world! It’s gorgeous, it’s spectacular and there really aren’t enough words to explain the beauty of this area.

As I was driving south from Monterey, I stopped here at the Point Sur Lighthouse. I love this place and if you ever have the opportunity to come into California and travel down our beautiful coastline, this would be a great place to stop and take a tour of this wonderful old lighthouse. It is one of the most historical landmarks along the California coast and I know you will be stunned by the visual beauty of the area and the Point Sur Lighthouse.

As I was driving, I saw the light flashing and I was struck by the fact that all of us have the opportunity to be a beacon of light that takes people through their day in a way that is extremely positive.

The point of a lighthouse was to guide the sailors through dangerous waters so that they would get to their destinations safely, right?

We can be that kind of light as well. We should ask ourselves everyday, “What’s the attitude that I bring to my life and to people’s lives I have an opportunity to touch on a daily basis. Am I that beacon of light that is able to guide people through this adventure we call life?

I know that most of you are that beacon of light!

I like to reference back to the works of John C. Maxwell, and his wonderful book, The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth. The first two laws he discusses are the Law of Intentionality and the Law of Awareness. They are extremely important laws for us to consider.

We should be more aware of what’s happening within us when we’re connecting with people throughout our day. Are we just communicating or are we truly connecting and being a beacon of light? Do we give a sense of safety and security or chaos and insecurity?

What are our attitudes? What are our emotions? How are we going to touch the peoples lives? Then we must intentionally take the actions to be that beacon of light that will allow people to #1 be attracted to us and #2 want to follow us on the journey. If we will ask ourselves these questions we can more effectively guide, encourage and help people through these challenging adventures of life.

So until next time, be a beacon of light to somebody in your life. Do it intentionally and make today a masterpiece!

And remember, keep on growing, keep on learning and keep on leading! Also the next time you’re in Central California, take a tour of the Point Sur Lighthouse.

Point to Ponder: Who is in your life right now that you can be a beacon of light to? Be intentional with spreading your light!
